“And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.” Matthew 9:2 (KJV)
The opening scripture throws light on the ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ while He walked this earth. He pointed to us to always choose righteousness over sin. Beloved, sin is the enemy’s tool to gain entrance into our lives. The man became sick of palsy because of sin.
The particular sin that paralyzed him was not mentioned but it should inform you that the devil will go all lengths to destroy you. When his sin was forgiven, healing took place (Matthew 9:6–7, Psalms 103:3). Don’t discriminate against sin; no sin is too small. No matter how small you may think it is, it still has the tendency to open a door for the enemy into your life. When he gets into your life, he puts you into bondage and aims at destroying you.
Dear beloved, are you fond of a particular sin in your life? Ask God to forgive you and always choose righteousness over that sin so that you can be holy and healthy for the Lord. It is possible to avoid sin by choosing your thoughts carefully; think about things that are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, etc. and your actions will be right (Philippians 4:8).
Focus your eyes and ears on the right pictures, images, and information, and you will be filled with righteous desires.

Prayer Point: Righteous Father, thank You for enlightening me about righteousness and sin. I choose righteousness over sin in order to live a holy and healthy life to the glory of Your name. Please prompt me when wrong thoughts enter my mind and help me replace them with right thoughts. Please lead and guide me to focus my eyes and ears on Your righteousness and be blessed in Jesus’ name. Amen!
